The Hospital

UPVet – Veterinary Hospital of the University of Porto was the result of the natural evolution of the Veterinary Clinic created in 1998, in response to the growing needs of its users and the training needs of our Veterinary Medicine students.

Recognized by the Directorate-General for Veterinary Services in 2015, UPVET is a veterinary care center integrated into the community services of ICBAS-U. Porto, whose objectives are the practical training of students in the Integrated Master's Degree in Veterinary Medicine, the provision of veterinary clinical services to the population, support for private veterinarians, and research and development of better methods for diagnosing and treating diseases in companion animals.
