Jorge Ribeiro, DVM, PhD
Clinical Director
Graduated in Veterinary Medicine in 2001 from ICBAS–UP, he completed his PhD in Veterinary Sciences in the field of regenerative medicine at the same institution in 2016. He completed a Master’s degree in Academic and Clinical Education at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Porto in 2024. He has been a Veterinarian at UPVET since 2003, working primarily in companion animal surgery.
More recently, he developed a digital logbook as part of his master’s dissertation. He is a member of the CECA–ICETA–U.Porto research team and is the author and co-author of several scientific articles and a book chapter in the fields of experimental surgery, tissue engineering, regenerative medicine, and clinical oncology. He has participated as a speaker at numerous national and international scientific meetings.
As part of a multidisciplinary research team, he has been involved in several projects in experimental surgery, regenerative medicine, biomaterials development, and cellular therapies, with particular dedication to microsurgery and nerve regeneration and repair. He collaborates in teaching the courses of Companion Animal Surgery and Companion Animal Medicine and Surgery I and II of the Integrated Master’s Degree in Veterinary Medicine at ICBAS–UP. He has served as Clinical Director of UPVET since 2019.
