Graduated in Veterinary Medicine in 2001 from ICBAS–UP, he completed his PhD in Veterinary Sciences in the field of regenerative medicine at the same institution in 2016. He completed a Master’s degree in Academic and Clinical Education at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Porto in 2024. He has been a Veterinarian at UPVET since 2003, working primarily in companion animal surgery.
More recently, he developed a digital logbook as part of his master’s dissertation. He is a member of the CECA–ICETA–U.Porto research team and is the author and co-author of several scientific articles and a book chapter in the fields of experimental surgery, tissue engineering, regenerative medicine, and clinical oncology. He has participated as a speaker at numerous national and international scientific meetings. As part of a multidisciplinary research team, he has been involved in several projects in experimental surgery, regenerative medicine, biomaterials development, and cellular therapies, with particular dedication to microsurgery and nerve regeneration and repair. He collaborates in teaching the courses of Companion Animal Surgery and Companion Animal Medicine and Surgery I and II of the Integrated Master’s Degree in Veterinary Medicine at ICBAS–UP. He has served as Clinical Director of UPVET since 2019.

Graduated in Veterinary Medicine in 1987 from FMV-UTL and PhD in Veterinary Sciences in 2008 from ICBAS-UP. She is an Assistant Professor with Aggregation at ICBAS-UP, teaching the subject of Companion Animal Surgery.

She is part of the CECA-ICETA-UPORTO research team and is a member of the European Society for the Study of Peripheral Nerve Repair and Regeneration (ESPNR) and the Portuguese Society of Veterinary Regenerative Medicine (VETREG). She is the author and co-author of several articles and book chapters in the fields of experimental surgery, tissue engineering, regenerative medicine, and clinical oncology, and has participated as a guest speaker at several national and international scientific meetings. As a member of a multidisciplinary research team, she has conducted several studies in the areas of experimental surgery, regenerative medicine, biomaterial development, and cell therapies, with a special focus on microsurgery and nerve regeneration and repair.

Graduated in Veterinary Medicine from UTAD in 1997. In 2002, she took the Pedagogical Aptitude and Scientific Capacity Exams and in 2008 she obtained her PhD from UTAD, with the thesis “Neurohumoral and endothelial mechanisms in heart failure - pathophysiological and therapeutic implications.” Between 1998 and 2008, she was a lecturer at UTAD in the area of Companion Animal Clinic, responsible for the area of Cardiology.

Since 2008, she has been working as an assistant professor at ICBAS-UP, where she teaches in the areas of Pharmacology and Companion Animal Medicine (Cardiology).

Head of the Animal Experimentation course in the Doctoral Program in Cardiovascular Sciences at FMUP. Completion of internships and training courses in the field of veterinary cardiology (Cardiology I, European School for Advanced Veterinary Studies (ESAVS), internship at the Cardiology Service of the Small Animal Teaching Hospital University of Liverpool; various workshops on echocardiography, electrocardiography, chest radiology; IMPROVE Level I, II, and III echocardiography courses). Supervision of undergraduate and graduate students (master's and doctoral degrees). Currently responsible for the echocardiography service at the University of Porto Veterinary Hospital (UPVET). Researcher on several projects in the areas of veterinary cardiology and cardiovascular sciences (Comparison of diagnostic methods in imaging; Biomarkers in degenerative valve disease in dogs; Animal and human heartworm disease; Role of purines in pulmonary arterial hypertension). Author/co-author of several national and international publications/presentations in the areas of veterinary cardiology and cardiovascular sciences. Founding member and former President of the Portuguese Society of Veterinary Cardiology.

Completed his curricular internship at AniCura CHV Porto in 2021.
He obtained his Integrated Master’s Degree in Veterinary Medicine from ICBAS in 2021.
Since August 2021, he has been part of the UPVET team, with particular interests in abdominal ultrasonography, computed tomography, and internal medicine.

Graduated in Veterinary Medicine from ICBAS – University of Porto (2007) and earned a PhD in Veterinary Sciences in oncology (2012). She served as Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of Universidade Lusófona (2013–2017) and at the University of Évora (2018). Since 2019, she has been an Assistant Professor in the Department of Veterinary Clinical Sciences at ICBAS – University of Porto. She is a researcher at CECA–ICETA and coordinates the UPVET Companion Animal Clinical Research Group. Her research focuses on clinical oncology in companion animals, including tumor biomarkers and the microbiome. She completed advanced training in internal medicine and veterinary oncology at the University of Tennessee (USA), University of Wisconsin–Madison (USA), and the Royal Veterinary College (UK). She is the author of several international scientific publications and a frequent invited speaker at oncology congresses and courses. She is Vice-President and founding member of the Portuguese Society of Veterinary Oncology (SPOV).

Completed a curricular internship at the Póvoa Veterinary Hospital (then known as the Póvoa Veterinary Clinic) and at the Animal Medical Center Manchester (UK) under the guidance of Pip Boydell.

In 2003, he completed his degree in Veterinary Medicine at ICBAS.

Between 2003 and 2007, she practiced small animal medicine and surgery at various veterinary clinics in the Greater Porto area, and between 2008 and 2010 at Vetsnow Referrals Liverpool (UK).

In 2011, she returned to Portugal and between 2011 and 2013 worked at the CAMV Small Animal Clinic and Surgery in the Greater Porto area, joining the UPVET team in 2013. In 2014, he obtained a Diploma in Surgery from the UAB – “Expert” Course.

Graduated in Veterinary Medicine from UTAD in 1998.

Completed a curricular internship in companion animal medicine and surgery at the UTAD Veterinary Clinics, the Maia Veterinary Clinic, and the Espinho Veterinary Clinic. Provided support services to the UTAD Veterinary Clinics in 1996 in the area of surgery, preparing surgical equipment and managing the stock of medicines and materials related to this area. Practiced clinical medicine and surgery at the UTAD Veterinary Clinics from March to September 1999. She collaborated as a lecturer in the Department of Anesthesiology and Surgical Techniques (ATO) at UTAD from March to September 1999. She provided voluntary clinical and surgical services to animals under the care of Animal Protection Associations in the Greater Porto area from September 2009 to March 2013. He has been practicing clinical and surgical medicine for companion animals at the Lagoa Veterinary Clinic, on a regular and emergency basis, since February 1998. She attended several intensive courses in the areas of general and orthopedic surgery, emergency medicine and intensive care, ophthalmology, veterinary clinic management, and exotic animal medicine and surgery.

Graduated in Veterinary Medicine from ICBAS – University of Porto in 2001 and attended the Glasgow University Veterinary School (Scotland) between 2000 and 2001.
In 2003, she joined the Department of Veterinary Clinical Sciences at ICBAS, becoming part of the founding clinical team of the ICBAS Veterinary Clinic, now the Porto Veterinary Hospital (UPVET). She dedicated her clinical practice primarily to oncology (establishing the ambulatory chemotherapy service), abdominal ultrasonography, internal medicine, and dermatology. She collaborates in teaching several curricular units, supervising internships and theses, and participating in scientific research projects in oncology, internal medicine, and public health.
She completed several postgraduate training programs, including the Oncology Training Program of the European School for Advanced Veterinary Studies and a fellowship in Oncology and Radiotherapy at the Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital, University of California, Davis. She defended her PhD in Veterinary Sciences in 2014, became a member of the Scientific Committee of the Veterinary Oncology Update Program (Onco Pop UP) in 2019, and a founding member of the Companion Animal Clinical Research Unit (UICAC) in 2023. She has authored multiple indexed international publications, scientific communications, lectures, and has organized technical and scientific events.

She completed her Integrated Master’s Degree in Veterinary Medicine in 2010 at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, University of Lisbon (FMV-UL). She undertook several dermatology internships, including at the FMV-UL Teaching Hospital and Studio Dermatologico Veterinario in Milan. In 2011, she joined the internship program at the Fundació Hospital Clínic Veterinari of the Autonomous University of Barcelona (FHCV-UAB) and subsequently completed a three-year residency in Veterinary Dermatology accredited by the European College of Veterinary Dermatology (ECVD), becoming a Diplomate in 2016. From 2015 to 2020, she was part of the dermatology team at Animal Health Trust (UK). In 2018, she co-founded the Portuguese Society of Veterinary Dermatology and served as President of its Board until 2020.
She is currently Head of the Dermatology Service at the Porto Veterinary Hospital, where she established the first veterinary dermatology residency and internship program in Portugal. She is also an invited professor at Universidade Lusófona and the University of Porto. She has published scientific articles and is a frequent speaker at national and international conferences. Outside veterinary medicine, she is passionate about outdoor sports, an advocate for feminism and humanized childbirth, and the mother of a two-year-old son.

Graduated in Veterinary Medicine from the Abel Salazar Institute of Biomedical Sciences – University of Porto in 2004. She completed her internship at the Montenegro Veterinary Hospital in Porto and at the Animal Medical Centre Referral Services in Manchester and Yorkshire, UK. Since then, she has worked at the Pet Clinic in Greater Porto, mainly dedicated to Internal Medicine, and in 2013 she joined the UPVet emergency service team.

At the same time, she carried out fieldwork and research in the context of cooperation, in the area of population control and parasitic diseases. She completed a postgraduate degree in Development Cooperation Project Management at the Catholic University of Porto in 2018.

She has been part of the UPVet clinical staff since 2020.

Graduated in Veterinary Nursing from the Higher Agricultural School of Viseu in 2008, she completed her curricular internship at the Mayhew Animal Home Clinical Center in London and at the Braga Veterinary Hospital, where she began her career immediately after completing her internship. Since 2014, she has been part of the nursing team at the Veterinary Hospital of the University of Porto (UPVET), at the Abel Salazar Institute of Biomedical Sciences. She has participated in several Veterinary Nursing Congresses, organized by Polytechnic Institutes and the Montenegro Veterinary Hospital.

She is currently studying for an Integrated Master's Degree in Veterinary Medicine at the Abel Salazar Institute of Biomedical Sciences.

As a Veterinary Nurse, she was invited to give a lecture on “patient monitoring during and after transfusion” at a training course organized by the AEVP (Portuguese Veterinary Nurses Association) in 2016.

Alongside her personal and professional life, she is a volunteer leader at Associação Guias de Portugal, an association that provides informal comprehensive training for girls and young women, and is currently a member of the National Executive Committee.

Veterinarian exclusively dedicated to orthopedic surgery and traumatology. Clinical Director of the Assafarge Veterinary Surgical Center – Coimbra since 2019, he also works as a freelance surgeon in ambulatory practice in the Central region of Portugal. He has been an Invited Assistant Professor at ICBAS – University of Porto since 2022 and previously served as Assistant Professor of Anatomy at Escola Universitária Vasco da Gama (EUVG) from 2014 to 2022. He holds a degree and a Master’s in Veterinary Medicine from EUVG (2004–2010) and completed his PhD in Veterinary Sciences at the University of Porto (2014–2019), with research focused on biomaterials and stem cells applied to orthopedic surgery. He is a researcher at the ICBAS Cellular Therapies Laboratory and at ICETA – University of Porto. Throughout his career, he worked at the Baixo Vouga Veterinary Hospital (Águeda) between 2009 and 2014 and at the Coimbra University Veterinary Hospital between 2014 and 2018. He holds postgraduate qualifications in Soft Tissue Surgery and Orthopedics, Emergency and Anesthesia (Improve, 2010–2013), as well as several AOvet courses and internships at European universities and reference hospitals, particularly in the United Kingdom, where he maintains regular professional visits. He is frequently invited to speak at international conferences on veterinary orthopedics and reconstructive surgery. He also holds a degree in Agricultural Engineering from the Escola Superior Agrária de Coimbra (ESAC) (1999–2004). Member of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (UK), the Portuguese Veterinary Medical Association, the Portuguese Association of Companion Animal Veterinary Specialists, the British Small Animal Veterinary Association, and the European Society of Veterinary Orthopaedics and Traumatology.

She completed internships at the Centre Hospitalier Vétérinaire Frégis (Arcueil, France), the ARS Veterinaria Hospital (Barcelona, Spain), and the Veterinary Hospital of the University of Trás-os-Montes and Alto Douro (HV-UTAD).

She completed his Integrated Master's Degree in Veterinary Medicine at UTAD in 2017 and

became part of the HV-UTAD team until August 2019. During this period, he completed a Postgraduate Degree in Internal Medicine for Companion Animals at the Autonomous University of Barcelona.

Back in Portugal, she joined the UPVET team in October 2020.

Postgraduate degree (University Expert) in Small Animal Dentistry from Universidad Católica de Valencia. She initially studied Human Medicine at Masaryk University (Czech Republic). She graduated in Veterinary Medicine from ICBAS – University of Porto in 2017 and joined the clinical staff of the Porto Veterinary Hospital after completing her internship. In 2018, she completed training in dentistry with DVM, Dipl. EVDC Aurora Mateo at VETSIA Veterinary Hospital (Madrid), trained with PhD Efe Onur at VETDENTISTANBUL (Turkey), completed her postgraduate degree at UCV in 2022, and Dentistry IV (Orthodontics and Prosthodontics) at ESAVS in Dublin. In 2021, she began working as a freelancer providing an ambulatory dental service through VETDENTIST, delivering specialized care to clinics in northern and central Portugal. In 2025, she completed the course “Piezosurgery in Maxillofacial Surgery,” enabling innovative maxillofacial surgical techniques in Portugal. She has participated in numerous courses and lectures promoting veterinary dentistry.

She began his professional career in Lisbon in 2017.

She has been part of the UPVet nursing team since January 2018.

Graduated from the Ponte de Lima Agricultural College in 2017. Currently pursuing a master's degree in Veterinary Nursing for Companion Animals at the same institution.

She completed training courses in Veterinary Nursing, such as anesthesia for veterinary nurses (taught by APMVEAC), and Exotic Animals (organized by ESAPL).

Graduated as a Veterinary Clinic Assistant in 2004 from Instituto Monitor. Graduated in Veterinary Nursing in 2008 from Escola Superior Agrária de Elvas.

In her continuing education, she completed two postgraduate degrees: a postgraduate degree in Animal Behavior and Welfare, and a postgraduate degree in Practical Techniques in Veterinary Medicine. She has participated in several national conferences in different areas.
